God's Sovereign Control

God's Sovereign Control
"To him belong strength and victory; both deceived and deceiver are his."  Job 12:16.

When we ask Jesus to be our Savior and Lord, He assumes Sovereign control.  He knows that we will face challenges but He assures us of His Sovereign control.  "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33. No matter what you may be facing - God is in control.

His Word says that He is in control of both the deceived and the deceiver.  He is in control of our mess and miracles; our trials and triumphs; our valleys and victories; our problems and provision - God is in control.  You can therefore confidently say, "No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper!"  Job, a man who revered God, went through many trials.  He faced financial loss; he lost some of his family members; he lost his health through a deadly disease; he lost the trust of his friends; and finally the enemy tried to make him lose his soul to eternal death. His wife's advice to him during this difficult time was to, "Curse God and die." Job 2:9.

During all his trials, God was there, in absolute control.  After much suffering and confusion about his problems, God finally spoke to Job and confirmed that his suffering was not because of a sinful life but in God's sovereignty He allowed His beloved servant to experience trials that would lead him to a greater triumphant life.  It is a complex issue to understand why God allow bad things to happen to good people.  His promise, however, is: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28.

When you feel like you are out of control remember that God is in control.

Kingdom Declaration:
My God is in Sovereign control of my life and I therefore have His peace.
